Amid a high-stakes private equity acquisition, the client was required to rapidly stand up a new legal entity and HR infrastructure while safeguarding business continuity across a nationwide footprint. The carve-out demanded disciplined execution – spanning entity formation, jurisdictional compliance, workforce integration, and operational stabilization – under aggressive timelines and with zero tolerance for disruption.
OUR ROLE
enhanceHCM served as the lead strategic partner for the human capital transition, leading the HR carve-out and establishment of the infrastructure needed to support the business through the separation, ensuring compliance and continuity at every stage.
SOLUTION
- HR Transition Strategy & Program Oversight: Established centralized oversight to drive execution of a 100-day pre- and post-close transition plan. Acted as a strategic advisor to the CEO, private equity ownership, and senior leadership, aligning HR strategy with evolving business objectives in a new ownership environment.
- Workforce Integration & Change Management: Led full-scale onboarding of 500+ employees to a new employer of record. Orchestrated off boarding from the legacy entity and seamless transition to new payroll, benefits, and HR systems. Designed and executed a proactive communication strategy to support employee understanding and retention during the transition.
- HRIS & Payroll Implementation: Managed the RFP, vendor selection, and implementation of new HRIS and payroll platforms tailored to the client’s multi-state needs and complexity.
- Data Migration & Record Management: Oversaw the migration of employee data from legacy systems to ensure integrity, compliance, and process continuity across systems.
- Payroll Compliance & Support Team Stand-Up: Trained and supported the client’s internal HR, Payroll and Operations teams through the transition. Implemented compliant payroll processing – including piece-rate and prevailing wage calculations – across multiple states.
- Entity Registration & Jurisdictional Compliance: Led the set up of state and local tax registrations, enabling payroll tax withholding and legal operating status in each jurisdiction.
- Total Rewards & Strategic Program Launch: Designed and rolled out a new benefits package, 401(k) program, and compliance initiatives aligned to private equity standards. Developed retention-oriented total rewards programs to secure key talent during and after the transition.
- Risk & Compliance Stabilization: Executed compliance readiness plan including a full I-9 review and remediation to ensure alignment with federal employment requirements. Developed and implemented scalable risk mitigation strategies and policy frameworks to safeguard the business during and after the transition.
- Business Licensing Transition & Operational Continuity: Partnered with executive leadership to secure, transfer, and activate all mission‑critical business and occupational licenses across every jurisdiction – safeguarding regulatory compliance and uninterrupted operations during the carve‑out and beyond.
- Executive Talent Acquisition: Led a national search for the company’s first Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and supported onboarding to lead the next phase of HR transformation and growth.
