HR Transformation: Stabilizing HR Operations During Rapid Growth

THE CHALLENGE

A PE–backed national manufacturer of plastic containers was undergoing a period of transition and rapid growth. After the departure of a recently hired HR Manager who proved to be a poor fit, the organization required immediate HR leadership to stabilize day-to-day operations, ensure compliance, and align HR programs with business objectives – all while implementing a new HCM system and supporting expansion across multiple sites.

OUR ROLE

enhanceHCM provided interim HR leadership, serving as the acting HR Manager to oversee all HR functions and programs. Acting as an extension of the executive team, the consultant partnered closely with the CFO, VP of HR, and internal recruiter to lead the ADP Workforce Now implementation, improve compliance, streamline HR processes, and strengthen alignment between People, Finance, and Operations functions.

SOLUTIONS

  • ADP Workforce Now Implementation: Transitioned payroll from a third-party vendor, eliminating manual processes and creating system-wide integration.
  • Automated Workers’ Compensation: Reduced administrative time and improved claims accuracy through system automation.
  • Benefits Optimization: Managed ACA compliance and facilitated a new broker relationship to enhance benefit offerings before open enrollment.
  • Drug Screening Modernization: Implemented in-house pre-employment testing, delivering instant results and eliminating third-party clinics.
  • HR Policy Audit: Conducted a full compliance review of HR policies, practices, and documentation.
  • Employee Navigator Integration: Established two-way ADP integration for real-time data and seamless enrollment.
  • HR Process Revamp: Rebuilt ATS, onboarding, timekeeping, performance management, and compensation programs.
  • Leadership Alignment: Reinforced collaboration through structured weekly leadership meetings.

OUTCOME

The engagement delivered a measurable increase in HR efficiency, data accuracy, and leadership alignment. The company achieved a fully operational and compliant HR function with automated systems and standardized workflows to support its continued growth. Employee experience and process visibility improved significantly, while a scalable HR infrastructure was established to support future expansion and acquisition readiness.
